Election update: good turnout from Wanaka, but a long way to go…

An update on polling just in from QLDC this afternoon, which is worth sharing. Compared to the same stage in the election three years ago, across the region voting is down (21% today vs 27% last election).

Might this be the Rugby World Cup effect, or are people leaving their decision to the last minute? With a week to go, anything can happen.

To date, Queenstown-Wakatipu has seen an 18.10% return, while returns in Wanaka are at 23%.

As we all know, the outcome of this election will arguably have greater impact than many others we’ve had in recent years, so please encourage your friends, family and neighbours to get their votes in before voting closes on 12 October 2019.
