Our core team

Alongside our Committee, there is a team of talented and hard working people who make up the core team of Wanaka Stakeholders Group. Here’s who they are!

Nick Page (Political Advisory)
Nick Page is a retired Civil Engineer who built a house in Wanaka 7 years ago after holidayed here annually for more than 20 years. Most of his career was spent in the contracting industry, where he spent the last 20 years as an owner and director of a contracting company specialising in commercial building projects.

Wayne Hudson (Legal)
Wayne has an extensive legal career, including many years as a partner of Bell Gully and then Hudson Gavin Martin.  He moved to wanaka over 7 years ago and still operates as a part-time legal consultant. He is also involved in the local community as a trustee of both Startup Queenstown Lakes and the Alpine Community Development Trust.

Noel Williams (Community Advisory)
Noel moved to Wanaka in 1983 to work in the ski and tourism industries before embarking on a 25 year career in real estate. This included owning and operating a Wanaka lakefront real estate business. Noel currently operates a small accommodation business from his home.

Sara Acland (Networks & Comms)
Sara Acland has lived in Wanaka for 10 years and loves the people here and the ease of getting into nature. She is a Mum of two active Wanaka kids and is currently studying health and wellness.

Sally Currie (Comms & Media)
Sally Currie, wife of Branden Currie, mother of two, has lived in Wanaka for 10 years and has a background in project management, media and communications.  Sally is the event director for Puzzling World Junior Challenge Wanaka. She loves the outdoors and has a passion for health and wellbeing.

Terry Hetherington (Aviation)
Terry is a long-term Wanaka resident and a commercial airline captain on a Boeing 737-800 who wants aviation better managed throughout the Southern Lakes and dispersed throughout major cities like Dunedin and Invercargill.  “The Upper Clutha is a unique and special place and it is important to ensure future generations can enjoy the region as I have had the pleasure of doing, without the impacts of an international airport 10 minutes from where we live!!”

Shaun Gilbertson (Wanaka Airport Users Group)
Shaun Gilbertson has lived in Wanaka for past 40 years.  He has been involved with the ski industry for some 24 years . Shaun has just stepped aside as General Manager of the Proving Ground after 14 years. He also is involved with several business interests in the Upper Clutha. Shaun is participates in general aviation both locally and nationally.
